I've just run into some stupid rants about yaoi and slash. Don't mind what fandom right now, because it happens in ALL of them...
To me, any obsession is something bad. WHATEVER it is related to. I can understand obnoxious fans are always a pain in the ass, but not every yaoi fan is like that

beatiful things.We are not all like that. You also can find retards on hetero couplings. And in everything!
Anyway... I need an example here.
I've just developed some taste for Link and Dark Link. Some people find it just unacceptable, and they
invent a Dark Zelda. OK. You can do it if you want, but don't go insulting people who like slash, please. Moreover, when this whole thing start to go all homophobic... that's not funny.
For some of slash fans (me included),
slash is just FOR FUN, we don't take it seriously, neither is canonical or real, it's just A GAME, just for FUN, the same way some people love and draw sexual parodies of whatever thing they like. I don't mind if they are married, have a girlfriend, they are really not gay or they like do it with cows!
IT'S-FOR-FUN. So you don't have to go mad at us saying "WTFHEISNOTGAAAAY"...

If we have to talk about intolerance, let's have a look: from that point of view, with all that hate about yaoi, they are also forcing a character "to be hetero". Heh.
It is supossed that fans have imagination, and that's the best thing about fandoms. Then, why have we to get into stupid arguments?
I can understand you don't like certain pairings, but, do you need to go SO mad at that? Do you have to generalize and call us all retard fangirls?
Why it's always so difficult to obtain just a little respect and tolerance in a fandom?

It's very hard to find a fandom where people respect your arts the way they are, or why you think about this and that the other way, and in some case, I totally hate hyper-fandoms myself. I'm a fan of bunch of things and I saw many things I was able to enjoy and some things that I just couldn't stand, but that's the world of art. You just can't expect that people will be tolerant about the things you like, a point where I often think "So, it's right to FORCE us fans to stop drawing yaoi/yuri of this and that just because YOU think it's not right, but we don't have the rights to complain about things WE DON'T LIKE in a series!? R U SERIOUS!?"
Fandoms are full of yaoi, yuri and hetero stuff, and I think it's not right to haunt us down just because we like to draw yaoi/yuri. To be honest, my most hated one in every kind of fandom is to see little girls getting f*****. I mean hello??? Pedophiles??? That's the same thing as hauting down us who like yaoi/yuri. I'm not chasing down those who like to screw up little girls (though SHAME ON YOU FOR EVEN THINKING ABOUT IT!!!), but it would be very nice for not getting haunted down because of things people don't like but what WE enjoy and like to draw.
I mean come on, it's a free art community! Let Artists do their things, you don't need to look at the pictures if you don't like something that's inside their galleries, you're not forced to do so. Don't blame the artist if you are too dumb to get your greedy hands away from the 'MUST WATCH!!!!!!!' behaviour. Geez.

What I want to say is, no matter what we as artists try to do, there will always be some nerds that need to complain about small things and making a big drama of it - people, do me a favor and grow up. It makes absolutely no sense to complain about yaoi/yuri couples you don't like to see since you can't force the artist to stop. Are you paying him/her for doing this works? No. The Artist is free to do the works he/she wants to do, if they GET payed for works like that, accept it. Nothing on these yaoi/yuri works is a personal attack on the fandom nor to it's fans, and if you guys (those who just can't shut the fuck up and need to complain and make out a drama of silly stuff) still need to complain, then I must say that you are nothing than just stupid, intolerant and selfish brats the fandoms totally DON'T need. You don't need to play the Nintendo/SEGA/Capcom/Konami/Namco/RARE (and what teh fuck do I know as game companies) police.
I really don't know what else to say, but really, those kind of fandom peoples are pissing me totally off, that's why I stay out of fandoms in general though I still need to deal with those intolerant brats nearly everywhere. It just ruins my mood and I never can shut my mouth if someone needs to fuck around with me in stupid arguments.
